How Notifications Work

When staff checks your child in or out using the kiosk, you'll receive a push notification on your phone within seconds. These notifications work even when the app is closed.

Enabling Notifications

On iPhone

  1. When prompted, tap "Allow" to enable notifications
  2. If you missed the prompt, go to Settings → SafePass → Notifications
  3. Enable Allow Notifications

On Android

  1. When prompted, tap "Allow" for notification permission
  2. If you missed it, go to Settings → Apps → SafePass → Notifications
  3. Enable notifications

What You'll Receive

  • Check-In Alert: "[Child's name] has arrived at [Daycare name]" with arrival time
  • Check-Out Alert: "[Child's name] has been picked up from [Daycare name]" with departure time

Managing Notification Settings

In the app:

  1. Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top corner
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Toggle Push Notifications on or off

💡 Pro Tip

If multiple family members have the app installed, each person will receive their own notifications for the same child.

Troubleshooting

Not receiving notifications?

  • Check that notifications are enabled in both the app AND your phone settings
  • Make sure your phone isn't in Do Not Disturb mode
  • Verify you have a stable internet connection
  • Try logging out and back in to refresh your notification token
